ABOUT INA
Hello! My name is Ina Prokipchuk (Prestayko) and I am seeking election as School Trustee for the Louis Riel School Division (LRSD) Ward 1.
As a lifelong Ward 1 resident, I have deep roots in this community. I grew up in Windsor Park attending General Vanier School, Beliveau Junior High, and am a proud Windsor Park Collegiate alumna (Class of ’86).
I completed my Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) at the University of Manitoba and previously worked for TD Canada Trust as Manager of Customer Service in the branch network and then in Human Resources.
My husband and I live in Niakwa Park, where we raised our son who attended Frontenac School and Windsor Park Collegiate (Class of 2022) in LRSD.
As an LRSD parent volunteer, I served with the General Vanier Nursery School Board, Windsor Park Collegiate Parent Advisory Council (PAC), Safe Grad Committee, and the school’s 50th Anniversary Committee. I also secured community sponsorships for musical theatre productions and led a PAC donor campaign.
I have been an active volunteer in our community with the Niakwa Park Residents’ Association for over 15 years, holding positions of President, Secretary, and Bay Representative.
For fun, I have played in the Adult Slo-Pitch League at Winakwa Community Centre for close to 20 years.
I have also served on the Winnipeg Boys’ Choir and Rainbow Stage boards.
If elected, I will bring a unique perspective to the board table:
• Having grown up surrounded by educators - including my parents, aunts and close family friends - I have deep respect for the profession and understand the challenges educators face in today’s classrooms.
• I closely follow education policy and developments across Manitoba.
• I have developed a strong working knowledge of LRSD governance and board business. As my son prepared to graduate from LRSD in 2022, I became engaged and started following the board meetings closely. I remained engaged because the decisions made by our school board affect students, families, educators, and the entire community.
• I have been advocating for community over the past four years. I have invested hundreds of hours following board business, researching issues, writing numerous pieces of correspondence to the board (referenced in the board minutes), and communicating with trustees. I have attended every regular LRSD public board meeting in 2026 in person, asking informed and direct questions during public question periods.
I am running for School Trustee because I am invested in students and education and committed to advocating for community.
My Priorities:
Student learning & success
Accountability to the taxpayers
Transparency to the electorate
Community engagement
Students First. Community Heard. Board Accountable.
ELECT INA PROKIPCHUK — A strong, informed voice for Ward 1.
